Download Full PDF Package in 3D linear elastic fracture mechanics: from theory to industrial applications Marc Duflot1 and Stéphane P. A. Bordas2 1 CENAERO The theory of stress corrosion for slow crack propagation is reviewed in the light of classical Griffith theory of fracture. Experimental data for stress corrosion cracking for glasses, ceramics, and metals are reviewed. We suggest that stress corrosion cracking plays an important role in the intrusion of magmas application of fracture mechanics to composite materials. It has been written to fill the gap between the literature on fundamental principles of fracture mechanics and the special publications on the fracture properties of conventional materials, such as metals, polymers and ceramics. The data are represented in the form of about 420 figures In the paper, asymptotic methods, perturbation theory techniques, and their applications in nonlinear fracture mechanics are discussed.
